Les Misérables is an upcoming British epic musical drama film produced by Working Title Films and distributed by Universal Pictures based on themusical of the same name, which is in turn based on an 1862 French novel by Victor Hugo.
On May 30, 2012, the film’s first teaser trailer debuted online and in theaters with Snow White & the Huntsman. The trailer, in which Hathaway sings “I Dreamed a Dream” over footage of the film, was met with very positive feedback. GeekScholars Movie News gave the preview a rare average score of “A+” on an A+ to F- scale, describing the trailer as “beautiful, dramatic, and exciting,” especially praising Hathaway’s emotional singing and the striking cinematography.
Synopsis

Hugh Jackman plays ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert (Russell Crowe) after he breaks parole. When Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine’s (Hathaway) young daughter, Cosette, their lives change forever.
